Here is a rough guide to help you with your content. The quicker you can get your content written up and organised, the quicker your website can be made.
Every website is different, and is designed with you and your product or service in mind. Vine99 will work closely with you from the start, working together, ascertaining what key features, elements, themes and functionality will be best for your website.
Once you are happy with a few of the main points that need to be decided on, such as page numbers, logo, theme and general design of your website, then it is time for both Vine99 and you to get creative.
We do offer content writing here at Vine99, as an additional service. This can be writing the entire content, or just proof reading your content. If you have any questions regarding content please don’t hesitate to ask.
Once we have arrived at this stage, we should then both be fully charged and excited about the birth of your new website. Vine99 will be working hard on the main functionality, look and style of your website, whilst you will have to start thinking about the content and images that best represent your business.
Basic website pages:
Although every website is unique there are a few factors that apply to all websites.
Your website should, at least, have the following pages (you can always add more content later):
Home – an introduction to your company
This is a great place to start. Gather all the written documents and advertisements that you have relating to your business. Dig out old business plans, and re-think how your original business has evolved into what it is today. Remember to think positively, as this is a new lease of life and opportunity for your business to grow.
Before you begin, decide how you are going to work on your computer. Vine99 use Open Office and Google Documents frequently, as these are free services online that can allow other viewers to collaborate and comment on shared documents. This can save a lot of time, composing emails and trying to send copy and images via different media.
About – who runs your company, how it got started, your philosophy etc.
This page can provide a background to your company. Think about the original concept behind the making of your business, what inspired you and how you made it work.
Mention success stories, how much your company has achieved and how long your company has been around for. Try to collect testimonials from happy clients, these can add to your site and help gain trust.
Products or services – what you have to offer
It’s surprising how often you come across a website that forgets to dedicate space to its prime objective – promoting a product or service. Even with the best product descriptions, it’s important to create a dedicated page that describes how your products or services are superior to your competitors. This section should be a summary of all your key features written dynamically. Basically, you want your visitors to read this page and be enthused enough to want to use your services.
Contact information - like, phone number, company address, email address etc. This page will also include an email reply form that can be filled in, usually with comments or queries, the email is then sent to your provided email address.
Contact pages can also be used to provide directions either using Google maps or another search tool.
